Mission and activities

Crimefighters of Louisiana describes itself as the state’s largest free, pro bono organization dedicated to protecting the rights of crime victims and advocating for stronger laws against violent criminals. It works on public policy at the local and state level, promotes awareness of crime victims’ needs, and pushes for maximum penalties in serious violent crime cases such as homicide, rape, kidnapping, and child molestation.

The group emphasizes helping victims with emotional, financial, and physical recovery by improving access to services and information, including victim registration, reparations programs, and sheriff and clerk-of-court directories across Louisiana.

Advocacy style and outreach

The organization takes a law-and-order approach, explicitly seeking the harshest lawful sentences for violent offenders. It engages in electoral politics through public endorsements of candidates for positions such as governor, attorney general, state legislature, and judicial offices that it views as aligned with strong victims’ rights and tough-on-crime policies.

Crimefighters of Louisiana also maintains a long-running radio program called “Crimewave,” operating for over five decades on regional stations KLEB 1600 AM and KLRZ 100.3 FM, and uses its website and social media to highlight criminal cases, law-enforcement partners, sponsored events, and resources for victims and their families.
