Brian Nicaud is a veteran law enforcement officer currently running for Chief of Police in Slidell, Louisiana, in the upcoming election on May 16, 2026.
Nicaud is a fourth-generation police officer with a 35-year career in law enforcement. He moved to Slidell in 1990 and spent nearly three decades with the Slidell Police Department.
- Career Ranks: Worked his way up to the rank of Sergeant before retiring from active duty in 2016.
- Diverse Roles: Served in nearly every division, including Patrol, Criminal Investigations (Juvenile Detective), Records, Evidence, and Dispatch.
- Specialized Programs: Spent 13 years as an instructor for the D.A.R.E. program and served as a School Resource Officer (SRO) in local elementary schools.
- Administrative Impact: As a Fleet and Facilities Manager, he reportedly implemented procedural changes that saved the department approximately $1 million.
